Types of Designing Softwares
Based on Parameters :
- Parametric – In this type of software we can modify parameters very easily. Ex. – Creo, CATIA, Solidworks and others.
- Semi- Parametric – In this we can modify parameters upto a certain limit.
- Non – Parametric – We cannot modify parameters in this. Ex. Auto – CAD.
Based on modules ;
- Low End Software – Only design module is present, Ex. CAD, CAE, CAM.
- Medeum End Software – Design and Manufacturing modules are present. Ex. – Master CAM, Del-CAM.
- High End Software – Design, Manufacturing and Analysis Modules are present. Ex. – Pro-e, CATIA, Unigraphics, Creo and others.
Auto CAD Details :
- Auto-CAD was developed by Auto-Desk, a USA based company.
- First version was R1, Micro CAD was relesed in 1982.
- Versions released from R1 to R13, 2000 to 2016.
