Jeep Meridian X

Jeep has launched the special edition Meridian X from Rs 34.27 lakh (ex-showroom). Over the standard version of the three-row SUV, the Meridian X gets some styling updates as well as additional equipment.

What’s New?

The Meridian X gets a grey roof and alloy wheels with grey pockets. It comes equipped with extra equipment such as side molding, puddle lamps, programmable ambient lighting, sunshades, an air purifier, premium carpet mats, optional rear seat entertainment package and a dashcam. At Rs 34.27 lakh, the Meridian X is Rs 50k costlier than the entry-level Limited (O) variant.

Powertrain:

Powering the Meridian X is the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine producing 170hp and 350Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, along with an optional 9-speed torque automatic converter. It is yet unclear if the Meridian X will be available with both manual and automatic gearboxes. The standard Meridian is available with the choice of a front-wheel drive as well as an all-wheel drive configuration.

Meridian Facelift

The Jeep Meridian is set to receive a mid-life update later this year. The updated SUV was spotted testing recently, confirming subtle styling tweaks only. Cosmetic changes will likely include updated bumpers and a revised grille; however, the biggest addition will be ADAS suite. Upon arrival, it will continue to rival Skoda Kodaq and MG Gloster, while also face competition from the Toyota Fortuner.
