Difference between m2DICR and mHAWK Engines offered by Mahindra
m2DICR
1.This m2DICR is the old school engine from Mahindra.
2. The engine was a small upgrade (common railed on DI) on their older DI engine borrowed from Peugeot.
3. The engine has a Single over head cam (SOHC) , with two valves per cylinder.
4. The engine is 2.5L (2500cc) engine which deliver deliver 63 hp (power) around 3200 RPM and 180Nm (torque) @ 1440rpm.
5. The engine has Turbocharger , with out variable noozle tubocharger. The engine has intercooler for turbocharger adjacent to the engine radiator.
This engine was mostly used in old Bolero Models

mHAWK 1. mHawk engine is current genereation engine from Mahindra which is the the downsized version of m2dicr
2. Its a 2.2 liter (2200cc ) engine delivering class performance of 140bhp (power) @ 3750 rpm and 330 Nm (torque) @ 2800 Rpm.
3. The engine uses dual overhead cams with 4 valves per cylinder ,and the engine is also less in weight.
4.TURBO and Intercooler
The turbo is a VGT turbo with overhead intercooler. The intercooler is placed in the engine head to avoid pumping losses.
The engine is generally used in new Scorpio models.
