I will take you through major types of display screens mostly used. What are the advantages of one over the other? What screens are used in the outdoor displays, automobile displays, transparent displays

LCD – Liquid crystal display
Layer of liquid crystal pressed between sheet of glass substrate. The glass substrate is formed with transparent pixel electrode and
thin film transistor (TFTs) and sheet of substrate with colour filter and transparent counter elcetrodes.

- blocks light to create pictures

LED Screen (Light emitting diode)
-composed of many leds placed together to form aa display panel
-emits three primary colours red, green and blue which are combined to form spectrum
-mostly used in outdoor screens
-consumes less energy
-high picture quality and clarity
ELD ( Electro Luminiscent Display)
– Flat Panel Technology
– a paper thin electrolumniscent material is pressed between 2 layers of conductors which produces radiation that appears as light
– USED in – automobile display, kepad illuminate, watch dial, bus stop graphics, reception desk
QLED ( Quantum Dot LED)
USES metallic quantum dot filter to enhansce colour and contrast
– highest level of brightness, largest color pallette, purest white
-advancement of LED/LCD
– USED IN – SAMSUNG Q80/Q80T,4K, 50” TO 85”
-ULTRA wide angle technology
OLED – Organic LED
series of organic thin films between 2 conductors
– thinner than lcd
-better image qua;ity compare to lcd
– better brightness, contrast and wide color range
– 1000 times faster than lcd
lower power consumption
