FELIN : Modernisation system for soldiers
This is a new system of warfare which has been invented by the French military. This technique of warfare can be used in all types of environments be it- airborne, desert, jungle, urban or mountain.

- Ballistic helmet and armor protection: Optronic system of vision with light intensifying cameras. Two led displays each 3cm2
- Voice and data communication: All sights would be linked to a FELIN communication system linked to a common server.

- Assault rifle – FAMAS F1, 5.56 mm.

- Total weight 25 kg with 24 hour food and water rations.
- Every soldier would be equipped with unique radio and GPS.
This system is deployed by Saffran Electronics and Defence. FELIN was in its demonstration phase during 1997 to 2000. The trials were conducted in the early 2000s. the definition phase was started in 2001.
FELIN system of modernization for soldiers adapts to the digital battlefield. It makes the operation completely digital and very sophisticated. It controls the flow of information, intelligence and connection across the entire battlefield. It addresses all operational requirements i.e. autonomy weapon use mobility, observation, connection, command etc.
The wearer of the osteophonic headband leaves less thermal and visual signature. Infantrymen have image ntensifying cameras and Commander carries thermal cameras.
FELIN was first deployed on the front line on 7th September 2010 with First Line Infantry Regiment in Surboi district occupied by French Forces in Afghanistan.
