The Kawasaki KLX 230 S dual sport motorcycle is expected to be launched in India soon. The company has been busy testing the bikes on our roads recently, and test mules indicate that the motorcycle is quite localised. This should help Kawasaki India price the KLX 230 S competitively.
The bike was launched in International markets in early 2024 and it received several updates. The list includes a new subframe to allow longer wheel travel and make space for a new seat. While the seat height is not too high at 830mm, the bike also benefits from improved ground clearance. It rides on a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels with dual-purpose tyres. Braking duties are taken care by a disc brake at the front and the rear.
Powering the Kawasaki KLX 230 S is 233cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that is expected to make 19bhp of power and 20.3Nm of torque.
The styling of the bike is also quite purposeful with minimal body panels all around. There’s a small headlight with a cowl around it, a high-set mudguard, a small fuel tank and a stubby tail. Kawasaki should offer the bike in two colours- Kawasaki Green and Grey.
The 2024 Kawasaki KLX 230 S is likely to be priced around the same ballpark as the Hero Xpulse 200 4V, around Rs 2 lakh.
