The new Kawasaki Versys 1100 has been introduced in international markets and is expected to go on sale in India soon. The bike has received several updates, both on the mechanical side and its features. Here’s all that is new about this big, adventure-touring motorcycle.

Starting with the engine, the Versys has got a bigger engine, with the displacement going up from 1,043cc to 1,099cc. The engine also has a higher compression ratio, heavier flywheel, and new camshafts with reduced valve lift.

All of these changes have had a significant impact on the engine’s output figures. It now makes 133bhp, while the predecessor unit made 118bhp. Similarly, peak torque has also risen to 112.5Nm. This engine was known for its tractable nature and with the changes, it should feel peppier.

In terms of the hardware, while the chassis is the same, the bike gets a larger, 260mm disc at the rear. Kawasaki offers the Versys 1100 in three trims- base, S and SE. The suspension units differ in the SE as it gets Showa electronic semi-active suspension while the base and mid-variant make do with manually adjustable suspension. The SE also gets a fancy, TFT display that features Bluetooth connectivity.

The design of the Versys 1100 is the same, save for the new graphics that manage to uplift the appearance of the bike. Speaking of, the Kawasaki Versys 1100 was always known for its size, stance and road presence. Not to mention the sweet, inline-four engine. With a more powerful engine and comfortable seats as well as ergonomics, the bike will be a more potent mile muncher.

We expect Kawasaki to launch the Versys 1100 in India soon and price it around Rs 13-14 lakh, ex-showroom.
