Mahindra sales in September:
Auto major Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) on Tuesday reported that the domestic sales of its SUV (sports utility vehicle) recorded an upsurge of 24 per cent to 51,062 units in September 2024 as compared to the same month of last year.
The auto manufacturer had sold a total of 41,267 SUVs in the domestic market in September 2023.
The overall sales of Mahindra, which includes those of commercial vehicles (CVs) and three-wheelers, stood at 87,839 units in September 2024, resulting in a growth of 16 per cent on a year-on-year basis, it said.
The auto manufacturer also stated that it sold a total of 36,777 commercial vehicles and three-wheelers last month, including 3,027 units in overseas markets.
“We sold 51,062 SUVs in September, a growth of 24 per cent and 87,839 total vehicles, a growth of 16 per cent. As we enter into the festivities of Navratri, we open bookings for the much-awaited Thar RoXX on October 3,” said Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd.
Thar Roxx
Mahindra recently launched the five-door version of the Thar, the Thar Roxx in India. The manufacturer recently announced the prices of the 4×4 variant, starting from Rs 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom) for the MX5 variant. The top-spec variant of the Thar Roxx 4×4 AX7L starts at Rs 20.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 4X4 manual variant.
The Thar Roxx comes with both a petrol and a diesel engine, in a lower and higher state of tune. The starting price of the Thar Roxx petrol variant is Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the diesel engine. It is offered in both RWD and 4×4 options. The 4×4 drivetrain is limited to the diesel engine only and in the future might be provided with the petrol engine. The Thar Roxx comes with white interior, panoramic sunroof, LED headlights and 19-inch alloy wheels in the top-spec trim.
