Three steps to choose right inverter and battery for your home or office
Power is really essential for running home or office. At the same time it is very important to select right inverter and battery for long life and stability. I am going to explain it to you that how can you select right inverter and battery for your use in this article. You must follow the video link below for clear explanation on the same.
Inverter is an electronic device that converts DC ( Direct Current) into AC(Alternating Current). Inverter needs a battery supply as its input for DC. While making your decision you should check both Inverter and battery.
Follow these three steps;
1. Calculate Power requirement of your home
2. Find right V-A rating inverter
3. Find right power battery for the inverter
1. Add the power consumption of each electronic equipment at your home.
Addition will give the power consumption in Watt.
Ex. Watt of one equipment * No. Of that equipment
Normal power consumption of home or office ranges from 500 to 700 Watt.
2. Check VA rating of the inverter according to your use. It is available on right hand side of the inverter as you can see in the image below.
Calculation of VA rating;
V-A rating of Inverter = Power requirement ÷ Power factor
Power factor = Efficiency of inverter ÷ 100
Usually the efficiency of inverter ranges between 60-70%
Normal V-A rating for home or office ranges from 700 to 1000
3. Back up hour is the number of hours you want to run your home or office with the battery. It can be 3 to 8 hours as per your area’s power cut timings.
Battery capacity is mentioned below left side on the battery.
Calculate Battery Capacity from formula;
Battery capacity = [(Power requirement)* (Back up hour)]÷ Battery voltage
Battery voltage = 12 V
Normal Battery Capacity for use in home or office ranges from 110 A- h to 200 A-h
