Royal Enfield has kept the social media world buzzing with the new roadster’s teasers. The moment has finally arrived as the iconic two-wheeler company has lifted the covers off the much-awaited Guerrilla 450. Launching price of the Guerrilla 450 is Rs 2.39 lakh, ex-showroom, and will be available in three variants and five colour options. The roadster will hit the showrooms in India from August 1. Royal Enfield has simultaneously launched the motorcycle for the European market and will be available from mid-August onwards.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Engine Specifications
The new Guerrilla 450 is powered by the 452 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder Sherpa engine with an output of 39.4 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 40 Nm at 5,500 rpm. Royal Enfield has retuned the engine to offer better low-end torque and the company claims that more than 85 per cent of the torque is available starting at 3000 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slip clutch. The two wheeler is equipped with two ride modes — Performance and Eco — and ride-by-wire technology.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Hardware
According to Royal Enfield, the Guerrilla is a versatile motorcycle that’s meant to tackle slow stop-start traffic, attack the twisties or hit cruise mode on the highway. The Guerrilla is based on a steel twin spar tubular frame like the Himalayan 450, but with a wheelbase of 1,440 mm, it is 70 mm shorter, length is 2,090 mm (155 mm shorter), 833 mm in width (narrower by 33 mm) and is 1,125 mm in height. Being a roadster, the new Royal Enfield has an accessible seat height of 780 mm.
The Guerrilla gets a sleek 11-litres fuel tank, an LED retro round headlight. LED tail light with integrated indicators and a single seat. With a kerb weight of 185 kg, Guerrilla 450 is equipped with 43 mm telescopic front forks with 140 mm travel and the rear monoshock which has 150mm travel. For stopping power, it gets 310 mm front ventilated disc brake and 270 mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Features and Variants
The Guerrilla is available in three variants — Analogue, Dash and Flash. The entry-level trim gets a simple digital analogue instrument console with an optional navigation Tripper Pod. The top model gets a 4-inch round TFT display which is integrated to Google Maps. With Bluetooth Connectivity, your mobile phone can be paired to the console allowing you to play your favourite music or playlist, receive message alerts etc.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Price
The Guerrilla 450 entry-level Analogue is priced at Rs 2.39 lakh, ex-showroom Chennai. It will come in two colour options — Smoke Silver, Playa Black. The mid-level Dash costs Rs 2.49 lakh, ex-showroom Chennai, and is available in Playa Black and Gold Dip colour schemes. The top model flash comes in Yellow Ribbon and Brava Blue colors and is priced at Rs 2.54 lakh, ex-showroom Chennai.
