The Triumph Daytona 660 will be launched in India on 29 August. The launch was supposed to take place earlier this year. However, the launch was delayed due to various reasons, says Triumph. Afterall, we finally have a date for the launch of the Daytona 660.

The Triumph Daytona 660 is based on the Trident 660 Roadster platform. It, however, has a more powerful iteration of the inline-triple engine. The Daytona’s 660cc engine makes 95bhp at 11,250rpm and 69Nm at 8,250rpm. What’s notable is that 80 percent of the torque is available at 3,125rpm. That should translate to easy rideability in the city.

The styling of the bike is like a quintessential supersport. You’ve got a neatly designed fairing, twin LED headlights and an upswept tail section.

Under the said bodywork, there is a tubular steel perimeter frame that is suspended by a 41mm Showa SFF-BP USD fork and a Showa monoshock with preload adjustment. Braking duties are taken care of by twin 310mm discs at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear.

In terms of electronics, the bike gets three ride modes-Rain, Road and Sport. Dual-channel ABS is standard.

Expect the Triumph Daytona 660 to be priced around Rs 9 lakh to 9.25 lakh, ex-showroom.
